Market size ,value globally and locally

Global Market:

The global motor oil market was valued at US$39.78 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach US$51 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 2.8% during the forecast period (2023-2031). Motor oil is a lubricating system specifically designed for use in engines, reducing friction between engine surfaces, which minimizes energy waste and effectively cleans, cools, and protects metal components from corrosion and rust. High-quality engine oil is crucial for engine performance, allowing for smooth operation, preventing damage, and extending engine life. Motor oils are used in internal engine applications to ensure clean, rust-free engines, improved fuel economy and performance, extended engine life, and reduced vehicle emissions. Gear oils, such as those used in manual and automatic transmissions, protect gear components from severe mechanical stress. Hydraulic oils are used in hydraulic machines to transmit power.

Egyptian Market:

In Egypt, the car engine oils market is estimated at 327.46 million liters in 2024, with a value exceeding 30 billion Egyptian pounds, projected to reach 350.70 million liters by 2026, with a CAGR of 3.49% during the expected period (2024-2026). The largest segment by vehicle type is commercial vehicles, which consume the most engine oil due to the presence of approximately 1.78 million trucks, with a high percentage of older vehicles requiring higher service needs. The fastest-growing segment by vehicle type is motorcycles, with Egypt expected to witness a significant increase in motorcycle engine oil consumption due to a strong recovery in low-cost motorcycle sales and increased travel prices.

In Egypt, motor oils accounted for more than 90% of total automotive lubricants in 2020, with consumption increasing at a CAGR of more than 1.59% during 2015-2019, driven by the country's growing active vehicle fleet. However, the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 led to a significant reduction in the utilization rate of existing vehicle fleets, resulting in an 8% reduction in engine oil consumption. The passenger vehicle (PV) sector recorded the largest decline of 8.48% in engine oil consumption during 2020 compared to 2019. From 2021 to 2026, the motorcycle sector is expected to experience the highest growth of 5.77% in engine oil consumption, followed by the passenger segment (2.94%). Growth in the motorcycle segment is likely to be driven by strong demand for scooters and motorcycles in the country over the next five years
